The scope

What we can help with.

We shape the work around your priorities. Here are the main areas we can discuss.

01

Configuration and permission review

Review configuration and permissions against the way the website is used and managed.

02

Update and backup practices

Clarify how updates and backups are handled and who is responsible for them.

03

Scoped hardening recommendations and changes

Prioritise agreed changes and check important journeys after implementation.

What we agree before starting

Access, backups, handover and support coverage are agreed for the work. Security hardening does not imply certification or guaranteed protection. The final deliverables and responsibilities belong in the agreed project scope.

How it works

A clear path
through the work.

Review the environment, prioritise exposure, apply agreed changes and verify that key journeys still work.

  1. 01

    Assess the environment

Understand current systems, access arrangements and business constraints.

  2. 02

    Agree the intervention

Define the changes, responsibilities and validation needed for the work.

  3. 03

    Verify the next step

Review the agreed outcome, hand over decisions or changes, and clarify support.

Scope, review points and responsibilities are agreed together. Pricing is based on the work your project needs.

Yukt Law Offices: redesign and continuing website care

Delivered work: Web Build Solutions revamped the website and worked on its technical performance, hosting configuration and SSL setup. The engagement continued through managed hosting, backups and maintenance, connecting the redesign with ongoing technical care for the website.

Outcome: The client received an updated website with configured hosting and SSL, supported by continuing maintenance. The supplied mobile PageSpeed Insights screenshots show a performance score of 57 in the earlier test and 100 in the later test. The comparison below includes the original screenshots and test conditions.

Before you decide

Your questions,
answered clearly.

Something specific to your setup? Talk it through with us.

Does my business website need an SSL certificate?

Your website should use HTTPS with a valid certificate so information travelling between the visitor and the site is protected in transit. The setup needs checking across relevant addresses, forms and redirects, rather than only the homepage. We can review the configuration and agree who handles installation, renewal and faults. A certificate is one part of website care, not a replacement for it.

Read the business SSL checklist
Who should handle certificate renewal?

Name the responsible person or provider in your support arrangement, including who receives notices and investigates a failed renewal. Automatic renewal still needs a clear owner. Your business should understand which domain and hosting accounts are involved and retain appropriate access. We can review the existing arrangement and agree responsibilities before changing it.

Understand SSL renewal ownership
Will SSL make the whole website secure?

SSL protects the connection; other risks need different controls. Website software, account access, permissions, stored enquiries and recovery arrangements still need attention. We review the agreed areas rather than describing a certificate as complete protection. If your business needs formal penetration testing or certification, that requires a separately scoped engagement with its own requirements.

Should backups be part of website security planning?

Recovery should be considered alongside preventive work. Agree what is copied, how often copies are made, where they are held and who can restore them. A backup notification alone does not show that the site can be recovered. We can discuss the recovery responsibilities and suitable checks your website needs within the agreed scope.

What should I send in my enquiry?

Share your platform, hosting arrangements, access roles and any known issues through an agreed secure channel. Include any timing constraints and the main change you want to achieve. Public links or anonymised examples are enough to start; access can be arranged separately.
